Reading Wrap Up: January 2016

*If you like this format, you should go check out my friend Sierra from The Nerd Girl Review because I totally copied it from her!

This is the first wrap up I've done for my blog and even though I've been using this blog for over a month, I just didn't feel like it was something I wanted to post on my blog the first month I was creating content. On to the books I read!

Total Books: 9

Physical Books: 7
Ebooks: 2

Books for review: 1
Books for pleasure: 8
Books for school: 0

Books for pleasure:
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black 4/5 stars (review)
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas 5/5 stars (review)
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer 4.5/5 stars (review)
The Young Elites by Marie Lu 2.5/5 stars (review)
Cress by Marissa Meyer 4/5 stars (review)
The Moth in the Mirror by A.G. Howard 3/5 stars (review)
Death Note: Boredom Vol. 1 by Tsugumi Ohba 3/5 stars
The Flash of Two Worlds by Gardner F. Fox 3/5 stars

Books for review:
Love is an Action by Bry Foster 3.5/5 stars (review)

Favorite book:

My favorite book of the month was Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I loved this story so much. I loved the characters and all the plot elements. I felt like this book was a great foundation piece for this series, and I cannot wait to continue on with the series. I buddy read this with Sierra (who I did steal this format from), and I think it just enhanced the experience so much. I can't wait to see what the rest of these books have to offer.

Least favorite book:

My least favorite book and my most disappointing read of the month was easily The Young Elites by Marie Lu. I had such high expectations for this book, and I really wish I would have enjoyed it. I didn't like the writing style or the way the story was executed. I loved the idea for the story, but overall I didn't connect with or care for the characters, and the plot didn't interest me enough to continue the series at this point in time.

What did you read?
